The sockeye are running in the deep water just outside Port Renfrew these days, and anglers can find a rare treat -- the dark red sockeye considered by most to be the best eating salmon. In this photo, Bill, Jerry, Adam, and Jim from Seattle show off their "salmon slaughter". They cleaned up on halibut on Day 1, and on Day 2 chased sockeye, coho, and springs up to 15 pounds on Swiftsure Bank.Below are a few more photos of recent trips, notably Alicia Fowler catching herself a 25 lb birthday present!
