July 31 Port Renfrew Fishing Report

Today was as nice a day as you can get out at Swiftsure Bank. Blue skies, little or no wind, calm seas….and most importantly, the fish were biting! We caught our limit of sockeye quickly off Port Renfrew, with quite a few doubleheaders (see double netting picture below) and one thripleheader. We then headed out to Swiftsure, where we caught our limit of halibut – 15-25 pound “chickens”.
