September 26 Port Renfrew Fishing Report

Still some excellent late season fishing to be had off Vancouver Island. We had some rainy weather earlier this month, felt like fall, but now it's beautiful sun and calm seas once again. Enjoy it while it lasts!

The mighty Northern Coho that Port Renfrew is famous for are beginning to show -- amassing in the Port Renfrew harbour mouth before their trip up the Gordon and San Juan rivers. The coho average 10-15 pounds and are pound for pound the best fight you'll get for your fishing dollar. The rare trophy size coho above 20 pounds are also caught.

As well, halibut fishing is still going strong out at Swiftsure Bank, with plenty of "chickens" available.

Call or email for a late season charter, only a few weeks to go. Fall/Winter rates now in effect. 1-866-623-5646
Or consider booking your 2007 trip now -- already the prime times are being snapped up, so if you're thinking of going, book now to avoid disappointment later.

Good fishing and good times to you all!
